The first in a new erotic romance series, Backstage Pass is a sizzling mix of sex, love, and rock n' roll
It's been months since Brian Sinclair, lead guitarist for the famous rock band, Sinners, composed anything. Unable to write the music that once flowed so naturally, Brian is lost without his musical mojo. But when sexy psychology professor Myrna Evans comes on tour to study groupie mentality, Brian may have found the spark he needs to reignite his musical genius. When lust turns to love, will Brian be able to convince Myrna that what they have is more than just a fling, and that now that he's found his heart's muse, he doesn't want to live without her?

Please note this book is only suitable for 18+!!

Backstage Pass is a book l was very lucky to get from the author via goodreads giveaway and was so excited to read it!
I will admit, l wasn’t aware just how strongly sexual this book is and definitely do recommend that anyone who reads this book shouldn’t be under 18. Backstage Pass does make it clear that this is erotic romance but l have most definitely not read anything as hot as this! It involves very sexual scenes which are detailed in full and often involve more than 2 people (the only way l can think to describe this!).
I straight away really liked the atmosphere the book created with the cheeky males in this book who l found are quite typical young males with how they speak and act (no offense to anyone, l liked this!). I quickly warmed to the whole bad boy thing because l felt with how confident Mryna was acting and what she was saying she was kinda bringing it on herself and it wasn’t like they were offending her. The atmosphere which Olivia created straight away was an exciting one which was also great fun, the perfect start to this book which kept me entertained.
The more l got to know Brian the more l warmed to him. I found him such a sweet guy but was also not too perfect that l found him boring and unrealistic – No guy is perfect, right? Mryna, the other main character, was one who l had a love/hate relationship with because of her actions. I found her a bit annoying at times with how she often said one thing then acted in a different way but as more of her pasting was being revealed l came to understand more about her confusing actions, although l still felt this wasn’t an excuse for some of her actions.
After the first 50ish pages l started to become less engrossed in this book because it was literally a sex scene after another and l wanted more from the book and the characters. Gradually l got to know Brian’s band mates more who were all unique. l loved how Olivia presented them in a way which let you get to know them throughout the book, some of the characters being bad boys and some not as bad but all as sexy and unique as each other. I wouldn’t say there were twists in this book which are there to shock you but instead this is more of a relaxed book which is in no way fasted paced (apart from certain scenes). When l got to the middle of this book l started to become more intrigued by this book as the sex scenes lessen and different things come into play such as Mryna’s study and different emotions between the characters.
Overall this is a great read which has a bit of everything, including sex (well, a lot actually!), humour, bad boys, a very sweet guy, a tense past and, of course, music. I felt all the things really came together at the end and definitely enjoyed being in the company of this band while they toured!

  1. This sounds good and I enjoyed your review, but it's probably not something I'd rush out to buy as I'm not really into the sexy stuff.

  2. Sounds interesting. It's the first time I read about a romance book involving a rock band.

But, I'm not sure about the "more than 2 people" sex scenes...I think I'll be too much for me. xD

  3. Karen - It is a good read! Can't wait to read Rock Hard. Great characters but sometimes some scenes were very .. urmm .. strong! lol don't know any other word.

Gaby - That's what l loved so much, that it was a rock band =)There was some scenes which very much shocked me!

  4. Read this and loved this book. Not so much for the erotic factor because honestly I was blushing through most of it but I love stories about rock bands and bad boys. This was also the first time I had read anything by Olivia Cunning. I want to read the next book but I have a few others in line at the moment.
    Thanks for the honest review!
