.... The Blurb  ....
A dare turns into so much more…

All I want to do is get to work on time.
But a Prince Harry look-a-like is trying to steal my cab,
and that’s not going to happen.

In the midst of the battle,
I discover I lost my wallet.
So I bargain—a free ride for a kiss.

His lips taste like mint, and when he tugs me closer,
I can feel the hard muscles beneath his expensive suit.

The kiss ends just as we reach our destination,
and I’m so taken aback by the explosiveness of it,
I rush out without so much as a goodbye.
I’m a hopeless romantic with no time for distractions.

But fate, that bitch,
Has us pounding on the same locked door.

Already knowing I’m going to be fired,
I curse my new boss and his new rules.
The hot suit laughs,
And dares me to tell my new boss what a dick he’s being.
With nothing to lose, I accept.

Never in a million years could I have imagined he is my new boss.
Dating him is against the rules,
His rules.
He’s a rulebreaker, though,
And everyone knows a rulebreaker isn’t a forever-kind-of-guy.

So when he says let’s keep things casual,
I dare him not to fall in love with me.

But there’s a reason rules aren’t meant to be broken,
And finding that out is the hardest thing I’ll ever have to do in my life.

My rulebreaker has a name,
It’s Prince Maximus Montgomery.
And this is our story.

.... My Thoughts   ...
In Short
- This book is full of fun chemistry.
- I loved Max and Gigi together, thoroughly entertaining.

In Long
Reading the blurb to Would Be King it sounded just like the sort of book I needed, one which was fun and full of cheeky chemistry. I love two characters who love nothing more than winding each other up in a fun and loving way.

Would Be King was exactly what I hoped for. I loved the interactions between Max and Gigi, they both give as good as they get which I loved even more. and their back and forth actions are so addictive and fun to see.

I enjoyed it being in both POVs and it definitely added to the book being able to see into Max's mind, he is thoroughly entertaining and hot. Gigi is a passionate character which I liked about her and totally admire her determination.

Final Thoughts
This was a cute, enjoyable read with lovable characters that you will enjoy spending time with.

Quotes
'Because her kind of trouble is definitely my kind of trouble.'

'She's sunshine in a bottle and I have a feeling I'm about to get wasted.'

.... The Blurb  ....

Someone is going to pay.
But who?

CADE
They took someone from me.
And I’m going to make them pay.
In blood.
But before I can do that, I have to make sure my girl is safe.
And I will do whatever I have to, even break my own heart, to make sure she survives.
Because she is my queen.
My everything.

INDY
He’s changed.
His grief is overwhelming and I can feel the gap widening between us.
Someone is coming after the Kings of Mayhem MC.
And we are trapped as they play out their evil scheme.
Because under the cover of darkness, they are coming for each of us, one by one, to play out their own twisted vendetta.
And no one is safe.

.... My Thoughts   ...
In Short
- You get thrown into a highly emotional situation from the get go.
- I was really intrigued to see how Cade and Indy handled everything.
- Although a lot does happen but I felt it lacked some intensity.

In Long
Brothers in Arms started where Kings of Mayhem finished and straight away throws you into a highly emotional situation which is incredibly difficult for both Indy and Cade. I really liked the character which died in the first book so I found I had tears in my eyes seeing how much it effected both characters. Emotions were definitely running high.

The different ways which Indy and Cade dealt with their grief felt really well thought out by Penny and also very realistic, it was really interesting to see how they both reacted.

A lot happens early on in this book and things start as they mean to go on, things never seem to slow down and the story line is fast paced. That said I did feel like Brothers in Arms lacked a little intensity despite all that was going on I wanted to feel more emotion, more on the edge of my seat.

I enjoyed spending time with Cade and Indy and enjoyed all the scenes with them together and seeing them both battle their demons.

Final Thoughts
I really enjoyed Brothers in Arms and it's characters, especially Indy.

Blurb:
Homer Carnegie. Admit it—you know my name. Your kid’s got my e-trading card. Your husband sits up straighter when I stroll onto the TV screen. He knows I’m going to crack the bat and save the day. Even your grandma’s jonesing for my autograph. But women my age? They’re the worst. Or would that be the best?

It’s not my fault they line up at the door. They catch my balls all right, two at a time sometimes, or even three. Believe me, everybody wins.

At least they did—until the video. I heard TMZ paid a million for a bird’s eye view of Homer on his A-game. The only folks who didn’t watch with eager eyes? Red Sox management. They want me benched, or worse, shipped off to rehab.

It’s a long story, what happens next. How I end up on a boat, bound for the world’s most remote island: Tristan da Cunha. Just a speck of dust in the Atlantic.

Except my heart is there.

I don’t know that when I step onto the boat.

I don’t know a lot of things.

What I’ll covet…

What I’ll lose…

.... The Blurb  ....

Forbidden fruit never tasted this sweet…

The world knows Samantha Brooks as the violin prodigy. She guards her secret truth—the desire she harbors for her guardian.

Liam North got custody of her six years ago. She’s all grown up now, but he still treats her like a child. No matter how much he wants her.

No matter how bad he aches for one taste.

Her sweet overtures break down the ex-soldier’s defenses, but there’s more at stake than her body. Every touch, every kiss, every night. The closer she gets, the more exposed his darkest secret.

She’s one step away from finding out what happened the night she lost her family. One step away from leaving him forever.

.... My Thoughts   ...
In Short
- Overture deals with a taboo subject in the most intense, gripping way.
- I loved how it was written from both POVs.
- Both characters grabbed and held my heart.

In Long
Overture deals with the taboo subject of a big age gap between the two love interests. This really did need to be well thought out or it can quickly put the reader off. Skye dealt with this taboo subject, in what I felt, was a gentle, well thought out manner. It felt very gradual, gentle and wasn't rushed.

Overture is written from both POVs and flicks quite a lot from one to the other which I found was a huge advantage for this story line. It was crucial I felt connected to both Samantha and Liam when the book is based around their journey and this ensured I got to know both of them well and fully understand both their feelings and actions.

Skye created intense, real, luring characters that I just couldn't get enough of, especially together. The pull is so strong.
Liam is such a conflicted character and I felt right there with him, often completely torn but understanding everything he was feeling.
Samantha is a conflicting character who really has been on a shocking journey for such a young age. She has so much weight on her shoulders, her character intrigued me and I was completely engrossed going on this journey with her.

Final Thoughts
Skye is a very talented author who swept me away with Overture, a book full of emotions, lust, love, internal battles and heart wrenching scenes.

Quotes
'How can I be satisfied with warmth when I know how it feels to burn?'

'He's become my whole world - and it's a dark place to  live.'

'The lines between right and wrong have blurred so much that I don't know where to begin.'

.... The Blurb  ....

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

But who said the devil was a he?

In my world, she was out to cause havoc on all our lives.

She’ll use the one thing I care most about to control me—force me into her Elite world, filled with sin, deceit, and power. And under her spell, I’ll lead a sinister brotherhood of seven at one of the most prestigious universities in New Orleans.

Seven tasks set forth by the devil herself, promising nothing less than the forbidden fruit of power. What they don’t understand is it will all end in bloodshed and regret.

They call me the alpha. The one in charge. The one with pride bigger than any task I could be given. And my pride won’t let me be anywhere but at the top of the food chain until she gives me what I truly want.

My task is Meghan Benedict.

She’s too pure for me to touch, too good for me to ruin—and the only thing standing in my way to freedom.

Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks given to earn your place are not for the weak...they’re for The Elite.

As they say, pride comes before the fall.

I am Mason Blackwell.

I am Pride.

.... My Thoughts   ...
In Short
- Pride has made me fall even more for this series.
- This was a real roller coaster of a ride.
- There is no let up in the twists and turns.

In Long
I didn't think I could fall even more in love with this series or become any more enthralled by the story line but oh my goodness, I totally have!

I was unsure where things were going to go from Lust. I originally thought, or assumed, it would start from where Lust finished so it was a pleasant surprise that I got to know Mason's story separately and in a lot more detail. Mason has one hell of a roller coaster of a story to tell us. One which had me engrossed from the first page.

The story line is very fast paced, there is no let up in the twists and turns. It felt like J.D. wanted to see just how much she could throw at the readers.

Mason is a strong, lovable character who I really grew to admire and care for. His story really puts him 'through the mill' and it's a true test of his character, this only made me fall for him even more with his loyal and caring character.

I instantly like Meghan, like I had with Mason. She felt very real and had a few different sides to her which were interesting to get to know, she is quite an innocent character who goes on a journey in this book. Meghan and Mason alone really added to the story but together they had so much chemistry I just couldn't get enough of them.

Final Thoughts
Pride is an amazing addition to this series and I am so excited for Wrath

.... The Blurb  ....

After two years of taking care of her heartbroken father, Evie needs a new start. Leaving the States and following her sister to Australia to work as the personal assistant of rugby star Xavier – The Beast – Stevens seems like the right kind of distraction.
Tall, muscled and devilishly handsome, Xavier is the lov’ em and leav’ em kind of guy. He never forgets a girl’s name because he never bothers to remember it in the first place.
Evie soon realizes that being Xavier’s assistant is a 24/7 job; the man seems unwilling to even set an alarm for himself.
As she watches him move from one woman to the next, Evie is glad that her heart is safe from his attention. After all, she’s a far cry from the size zero models he usually takes to his bed.
But soon being around Xavier doesn’t feel like a job, and seeing him walk around his apartment half naked all the time isn’t helping either. Evie knows that giving in to her attraction will lead to heartbreak, but when Xavier starts treating her as more than just his assistant, resisting his charms seems like an impossible task.

.... My Thoughts   ...
In Short
- Cora's writing really pulled me in.
- I enjoyed it being from both POVs and it helped me connect with both characters.
- Both Evie and Xavier have me feeling conflicted.
- The story line was well paced.

In Long
This was my first book by Cora and I absolutely loved her writing and will be making sure I read more of her books.

Despite really disliking most of Xavier's character and actions I found myself still enjoying spending time with him, especially with Evie. Together they had me smiling at many scenes, their banter hilarious and cheeky. I think this was credit to Cora's writing because usually if I dislike a main character I won't enjoy the book.

Oh Evie, I had a love hate relationship with her throughout this book. She felt very real to me and I think a lot of people could relate to her. However I felt maybe Cora did wrong by making Evie a size 12 but talking as if she was three/four sizes bigger. Yes I totally understand being around size zero figures that a lot of girls, including myself, would feel how she did. However I felt too much was put on about her weight, all the time there were references and this was never used in a positive manner and too regular for me. I didn't really feel there was any conclusion or any good messages came from her issues with her weight which is a missed opportunity, I can see what Cora tried to do and in a way she did but there was also not a complete picture, I wanted to see her work through things. Even scenes with Xavier never seems overly positive, a size 12 isn't fat but NO ONE every said that. That aside I liked Evie's character, she was perfect for this story and I couldn't get enough of her.

I felt there was a missed chance between Evie and her sister, I would have loved for a better bond between these two and more scenes where there is something other than bitchiness from Fiona. She felt very plain apart from either being as bad as Xavier at being heartless or not being happy with Evie

That aside I really enjoyed this story, it kept me engaged throughout, it never felt too slow and things felt well paced.  I can't wait to read more by Cora.

Final Thoughts
Only Work, No Play was different to what I expected but a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed Evie and Xaviers story and struggled to put the book down.

.... The Blurb  ....
He's a Russian mafia kingpin.
Deep, dark and dangerous.
Good and evil at war within him.
I’m caught in the cross-fire,
but I want to be here.
A cold-hearted man, or is he?
I’m about to find out.

She's breezed into my world
like a latter-day Mary Poppins
A sassy girl from England
with the voice of an angel,
and the body of a goddess.
I need her in my life like a bullet in the brain.
Everything about her tempts me.
But she’s an itch I won’t be scratching.
Except, the best-laid plans have a habit of going wrong.
Soon I’ll learn what really matters,
and that the worst lies
are the lies you tell to yourself.

.... My Thoughts   ...
In Short
- I enjoyed the lust between Taras and Zoe.
- I wanted more from Taras in regard to his character.
- Emma is a sweet, innocent characters.

In Long
The forbidden feel of the lust between Taras and Zoe was intriguing. Especially as Taras is so closed off and determined to not touch Zoe. I really enjoyed this aspect of the story and seeing it all play out, the inter battle between them both.

I warmed to Taras little by little, the more I got to know him. I felt like his characters change was too sudden for me though, I really would have liked to see the progress a bit more in depth by seeing more in to his emotions and his change of heart.

Emma is a sweet girl. I thought she might be quite a bratish character but she wasn't at all. She is a innocent, sweet little girl who I enjoyed getting to know throughout the book. Her and Zoe together were just adorable and their friendship was moreish.

The story line was faster paced, in fact at some parts I would have loved for a little more detail and depth to bring the intense level up, sometimes scenes had more potential. Taras really intrigued me but we don't get to see much of his business and what he gets up to when he leaves with I think would have added and helped my connection with him.

Final Thoughts

Nanny and The Bratva Boss is an enjoyable read that was different from what I have read before. I felt like I needed a little bit intense action in some scenes but over all I enjoyed it.
