.... The Blurb  ....

Forbidden fruit never tasted this sweet…

The world knows Samantha Brooks as the violin prodigy. She guards her secret truth—the desire she harbors for her guardian.

Liam North got custody of her six years ago. She’s all grown up now, but he still treats her like a child. No matter how much he wants her.

No matter how bad he aches for one taste.

Her sweet overtures break down the ex-soldier’s defenses, but there’s more at stake than her body. Every touch, every kiss, every night. The closer she gets, the more exposed his darkest secret.

She’s one step away from finding out what happened the night she lost her family. One step away from leaving him forever.

.... My Thoughts   ...
In Short
- Overture deals with a taboo subject in the most intense, gripping way.
- I loved how it was written from both POVs.
- Both characters grabbed and held my heart.

In Long
Overture deals with the taboo subject of a big age gap between the two love interests. This really did need to be well thought out or it can quickly put the reader off. Skye dealt with this taboo subject, in what I felt, was a gentle, well thought out manner. It felt very gradual, gentle and wasn't rushed.

Overture is written from both POVs and flicks quite a lot from one to the other which I found was a huge advantage for this story line. It was crucial I felt connected to both Samantha and Liam when the book is based around their journey and this ensured I got to know both of them well and fully understand both their feelings and actions.

Skye created intense, real, luring characters that I just couldn't get enough of, especially together. The pull is so strong.
Liam is such a conflicted character and I felt right there with him, often completely torn but understanding everything he was feeling.
Samantha is a conflicting character who really has been on a shocking journey for such a young age. She has so much weight on her shoulders, her character intrigued me and I was completely engrossed going on this journey with her.

Final Thoughts
Skye is a very talented author who swept me away with Overture, a book full of emotions, lust, love, internal battles and heart wrenching scenes.

Quotes
'How can I be satisfied with warmth when I know how it feels to burn?'

'He's become my whole world - and it's a dark place to  live.'

'The lines between right and wrong have blurred so much that I don't know where to begin.'
