Why l love it?
This is one of those covers which straight away attached me to the book but l'm not quite sure why. It's not a horrible cover but nor is it as amazing as other covers out there. l think it's mostly the dress and how it looks, it makes me think its the sort of genre which l will enjoy, strange huh!

I have added this to my next 5 read so many times but then l take it off because l don't have any time to get to it or it isn't at the top of my want to read list.
I love this cover, its so sparkly, the picture doesn't do it justice (like most sparkly pictures)
Hopefully l will get to it soon, realistically in a few months, l brought it around 2 years ago l think but seems to keep getting shoved back onto my shelves.

I have added a linky as l know some people expressed their interest in this meme. Thank you!!!

Blood Magic - Tessa Gratton
First of all, isn't the cover amazing? I love it! Some covers are a bit boring that just include forests because so many covers do now but l love this one!!
I haven't actually seen any reviews on this one? Its out in April (near my birthday!)
Does anyone know the UK publisher? I would LOVE to get my hands on this!

Blurb -
For Nick Pardee and Silla Kennicot, the cemetery is the center of everything.

Nick is a city boy angry at being forced to move back to the nowhere town of Yaleylah, Missouri where he grew up. He can’t help remembering his mom and the blood magic she practiced – memories he’s tried for five years to escape. Silla, though, doesn’t want to forget; her parents’ apparent murder-suicide left her numb and needing answers. When a book of magic spells in her dad’s handwriting appears on her doorstep, she sees her chance to unravel the mystery of their deaths.

Together they plunge into the world of dark magic, but when a hundred-year-old blood witch comes hunting for the bones of Silla’s parents and the spell book, Nick and Silla will have to let go of everything they believe about who they are, the nature of life and death, and the deadly secrets that hide in blood.

Urm, what can l say? How did the covers get SO different? Yes l love the colours in the first one and the font is great, seen it on a few covers lately but they are so different and would appeal to completely different people in my eyes.
I actually did a the PB for my Cover Crazy, l love it. Beautiful covers and just a great cover, the HB is strange and gives off a completely different story but does relate to 'Wicked Lovely' HB.

>> Hardback <3
 Paperback <<
I don't love either of these and l think the second  in this series has such an amazing cover it made me want to find more out about this book. I think the HB is a bit plain but l do love the red against the black background and sometimes simple backgrounds are nice. The PB just doesn't appeal to me, not for any particular reason, just one of them "Not sure about it" covers.

>> Hardback
Paperback <3<<
I never knew they changed the names but l definitely perfect everything about the PB including the new name. I LOVE the font and how its arranged on the page. I also love the love heart on her neck and the blood dripping down, which tells you straight away what the book is about!
Simple colours but still stands out (l think!)

The Blurb -
Since the gripping conclusion of Once A Witch, Tamsin Greene has been haunted by her grandmother's prophecy that she will soon be forced to make a crucial decision—one so terrible that it could harm her family forever. When she discovers that her enemy, Alistair Knight, went back in time to Victorian-era New York in order to destroy her family, Tamsin is forced to follow him into the past. Stranded all alone in the nineteenth century, Tamsin soon finds herself disguised as a lady's maid in the terrifying mansion of the evil Knight family, avoiding the watchful eye of the vicious matron, La Spider, and fending off the advances of Liam Knight. As time runs out, both families square off in a thrilling display of magic. And to her horror, Tamsin finally understands the nature of her fateful choice.
My Review -
I loved Once a Witch but l loved Always a Witch even more!!!
All the new characters which are brought into this book are unique, interesting characters which all have a real meaning within the story meaning none feel out of place or just 'there' which l find can happen in 2nd books in a series.
Tasmin is developed even more within this story and l felt her character stayed the same which is a good thing when you liked her character in the previous book. I have seem numerous of reviews where the characters have just changed too much in the second book, l felt the complete opposite of this!
The plot is even faster paced than in Once a Witch (which was pretty fast paced) and you can't stop at any place within this book and not find yourself wondering what's going to happen next until you pick the book up next. Even when you get to the next chapter there is always a cliffhanger making you want to read more!
The ending was nearly a disappointment but then l got to the last 5% (Kindle) and it totally turned around, WOW! It's not a big cliffhanger if there is going to be a third book and being honest it would be a good ending to the whole series as l feel satisfied with the ending, its one of those books you put down and are left with a book smile on your face.
At some points l did find myself confused because the times changing but most of the time l came to understand the thing l was confused about. The concept of the time seemed very thought out at all times and it was actually very interesting sitting there trying to figure it out then being like "Oh yes, thats very clever!"
Overall l loved this book, its a fun read which leaves you laughing in some places but also totally gripped in others. The interactions between the characters are great to read, even more so with the new characters and the good/evil traits.

Why l love it?
Who wouldn't love this?! I love how this cover sticks to one colour, purple. It's my favourite colour and not only that but it a beautiful colour which isn't boring at all! I guess the wings are kinda blue/purple.
I think the wing is beautiful!!! I wouldn't usually like that sort of thing as l like to imagine them sort of things by myself but l actually love it in this cover.
Not so sure about the tattoos but l can forget about that because the rest of the cover is beautiful.
I love the pattern around the font and the positioning of the font, l hate it when the font takes over half the cover!

The Blurb :
Tamsin Greene comes from a long line of witches, and she was supposed to be one of the most Talented among them. But Tamsin's magic never showed up. Now seventeen, Tamsin attends boarding school in Manhattan, far from her family. But when a handsome young professor mistakes her for her very Talented sister, Tamsin agrees to find a lost family heirloom for him. The search—and the stranger—will prove to be more sinister than they first appeared, ultimately sending Tamsin on a treasure hunt through time that will unlock the secret of her true identity, unearth the sins of her family, and unleash a power so vengeful that it could destroy them all. This is a spellbinding display of storytelling that will exhilarate, enthrall, and thoroughly enchant.
My Review :
I brought this book to read as l had the second book to review called Always a Witch (Not yet released). l never like to read a book which is second in the series before having read the first book because l hate missing out on a good book and would never read the first book after reading the 2nd already.
Anyway, my thoughts -
Carolyn is a new author for me and l am glad l have found her, l love the way she writes, her writing style makes the book constantly interesting and great to read. This book is also one of my first (if not my first .. can't remember) book which l have read that focuses so much on the magic that the characters hold. I was a bit nervous this would be too unrealistic but actually you quickly get dragged into the world which is created and start to believe this world really exists.
I love how the book started off and Tasmin introduced me to her world and that she felt a very normal girl.
The characters and their relationships are fun to read about, l especially loved the relationship between Tamsin and her sister. It is so similar to real sister relationships out there (mine included with my sister!)  but has the added factor of the magic in the family which makes it very funny to read about. You find the characters themselves and the relationship between other characters changing as the story goes on and bonds between characters are quite out of the blue! The complex connections and ties between different people in this book makes for an interesting 'community' within the book and more so because of the different opinions with the characters hold about their family.
As well as many of the bonds between the characters coming as a surprise the main storyline within this book was not expected. I thought l had a idea of how this book would turn out but l was totally wrong with new twists coming up in this book constantly. It really is a book which you can't get bored reading.
The talents which Carolyn included in this book was great, l loved every single one of them and some were a very clever idea .
I was excited to start the second book, Carolyn really leaves you with a cliffhanger in this book and l would very much recommend it, it's so close to being a 4.5.
