With so many great covers out there this book really doesn't grab your attention, yes it uses bright colours for the text but l think there is a good plain and a bad plain. This one, for me, is a bad plain.
This blurb sounds good to me because of the opportunity to get to know lot's of characters.
Blurb :
Set on six different birthdays, and dealing with six different women who are all connected to each other, though they don't all realise it, the story opens with Scarlett, on her 10th birthday, and closes with Constance, on her 60th birthday. Funny, tragic and engrossing, BIRTHDAY GIRLS is a must-read book from a major new voice in women's fiction.

There's nothing bad about this cover, just nothing great either. It's not got anything which stands out, doesn't scream 'READ ME'.
Blurb :
Gwyneth Morgan loves her job. And she's good at it -- she's never faced a challenge she can't handle -- until she meets Arthur Pendleton and his motley crew. Gwyneth sets Arthur a challenge that makes his heart sink. His team can't even find their own desks, let alone win a prestigious competition. Pitted against his ex-girlfriend, as well as his love rival and deadly enemy, Arthur is forced to break the law and overcome massive obstacles as he embarks on his quest to achieve the impossible -- and maybe, just maybe, win the heart of the enchanting Gwyneth. As Gwyneth learns some surprising revelations about the man she'd once considered just an inept colleague, she's forced to reconsider. Is it possible that Arthur is her knight in shining armour?

As a YA this book scream's 'old fashioned' to me which, l admit, makes me put the book straight back down.  I am very much into the new sort of books . The colours are also too much for me, hurts my eyes!
Blurb :
Annie and Marina have shared a London flat for years, and in spite of very different outlooks on life have become very close. Annie, a newspaper columnist, is unsure of herself and eager, longing to find the man of her dreams who will always give her the life she has always wished for. Marina works in the City, is beautiful, confident, and in spite of having the pick of the most eligible men in the financial world, is content to be single and concentrate on her career. So of course it's Marina who falls, totally unexpectedly, head over heals in love with the last man on earth you'd expect to see her with. And Annie is left, feeling very alone, facing the prospect of her worst fears coming true

Simple? Too simple for me, l just love something which stands out on a cover!
Blurb :
Kerry, Linzi and Fiona may bicker over the washing up and agonize over the itemized phone bill, but ultimately their bond of friendship seems unbreakable. Then Linzi's latest boyfriend arrives on the scene. Gaetano spells trouble with a capital "T", and soon the friction reaches breaking point.
