 .................................... The Blurb  ....................................
Most high school sports teams have rivalries with other schools. At Hamilton High, it's a civil war: the football team versus the soccer team. And for her part,Lissa is sick of it. Her quarterback boyfriend, Randy, is always ditching her to go pick a fight with the soccer team or to prank their locker room. And on three separate occasions Randy's car has been egged while he and Lissa were inside, making out. She is done competing with a bunch of sweaty boys for her own boyfriend's attention

Then Lissa decides to end the rivalry once and for all: She and the other players' girlfriends go on a hookup strike. The boys won't get any action from them until the football and soccer teams make peace. What they don't count on is a new sort of rivalry: an impossible girls-against-boys showdown that hinges on who will cave to their libidos first. But what Lissa never sees coming is her own sexual tension with the leader of the boys, Cash Sterling...

In Short
- Shut Out is an easy and relaxing read.
- The characters are all easy to like.
-The storyline has a funny but also serious side.
-The only thing I disliked were the ages of the characters.

In Long
Shut Out didn’t seem to me like the sort of book which I would enjoy but then I seen a lot of book friends who like the same books as me had really enjoyed this one so I had to give it a go. The lovely Lesley from My Keeper Shelf loaned this to me and I am very grateful she did, I loved it!
Shut Out is kind of in between one of those easy romance books which are just cute and sweet to read without a meaning really behind them as well as one of those books which deals with real teenage problems.
To start my review I want to start with the negative thing so it’s out the way and that is; The characters ages. While reading this book I constantly had to keep reminding myself how young they were because their actions just felt too mature to be the age they were. It kind of ruin some scenes for me as I just felt they were too young.
That aside, I loved this book. I love that there is a funny but also serious side to this book which deals quite closely with relationships, friends and sex. The funny side of this book really made the storyline easy to get into and stopped me from becoming too serious about the storyline which could have lead to me finding some things too unrealistic.
The characters were all really easy to like, even the ones which made mistakes or did annoy things. I found myself still really liking them. I don’t know whether it’s because Kody portrayed a good side to everyone.

Final Thoughs
Shut Out is a great girly read which is great for reading when you want to just relax in bed with a book. I loved that it had both a funny and serious side.
