Dangerous to Know & LoveDangerous to Know and Love - Jane Harvey-Berrick
Published : 17th May 2014
There very rarely comes a long a book which interests me on the title alone but this is one of those books. The title just grabbed my attention, I love books which involve bad boys who are proven to be more than just a bad boy. While reading the blurb I couldn't help but smile because it's exactly the sort of book I was hoping it would be when I read the title and got excited about it.
Really intrigued to read more about Daniel and Lisanne and to watch their relationship develop and grow.
Dangerous to Know & Love-
The Blurb :
Silence is only skin deep.

Nineteen year old Daniel Colton is the guy all the girls want to date, and the man all the guys want to be. Moody, with an explosive temper, closed off and sullen, he’s also beautiful, tatted in delicious ways, with a pierced eyebrow and spiky black hair. It’s rumoured he has piercings in other places, too. Is he really mad, bad and dangerous to know?

Daniel lives with his older brother, Zef, and their home is party central. You want drugs, a good time, liquor, no questions asked? Colton’s is the place to go.

When Daniel and good girl Lisanne Maclaine have to work together on an assignment, Lisanne finds there’s a lot more to the college’s bad boy than his reputation. He’s intelligent and funny and good company. And then she discovers his secret, why he’s so closed off to everyone, and determined to keep people at arms’ length. But being his secret-keeper is harder than she ever dreamed.

Cover Crazy #107

Cover Crazy is a meme I enjoy taking part in as a book lover because for me, although they say don't judge a book by it's cover, covers have a big influence over whether I pick a book up or not!

Just One Year - Gayle Forman
I didn't know that Just One Day was part of a series! As soon as I saw this cover I knew it was linked with Just One Day (I have the book to read) Love how this cover develops on from the first cover and also feels more natural and not a posed kissed.

Blog Tour : Excerpt + Question - Endless by Amanda Grace

Q - Cover Love : Discussing the cover for ENDLESS
A - I love the mystery and beauty of the cover, how Jenny is both present and hidden. It’s so much like how I see her when the book opens. If I could change something about the cover, I would make it several dimensions and show Jenny in the present and in the past all at the same time. I’d want to see an art gallery of Jenny’s paintings so the reader could explore the world inside of Jenny’s head.

Chapter 8
“I’m no expert, but that’s what it sounds like,” Ben said. “Let me see it.”
Jenny passed him the piece of paper, already pondering the words and their strange hiding place inside the music box.
Ben held the paper close to his face, lowering his hand a second later as he considered the words.
“Maybe it’s some kind of game,” Jenny suggested. “It’s a music box, so it might have been owned by a child.”
Ben shook his head. “I doubt it. The handwriting sucks, but it doesn’t look like a kid’s writing to me.”
He reached for the box. Jenny could see the look of concentration on his face. Closing the bottom of it, the piece of paper still on the floor next to him, he turned the box right side up. It glimmered a little, and Jenny saw that it was encrusted with jewels. No doubt they were fake, but it was still a strange find in an attic that, until now, had produced only junk and some cool clothes.
Ben put the key in the hole and turned it. Then he opened the lid. A few creaky, tinkling notes stumbled from the box.
“It works!” Jenny laughed.
It was obvious Ben was as surprised as she was. “Wait a minute … ” He stopped, a look of total concentration falling over his eyes. “Do you hear that?”
“What?”
He looked at the box with wonder and something else she couldn’t quite put her finger on.
“It’s playing Moonlight Sonata,” he said softly.
Jenny listened more closely, finally catching the tune in the slightly off-key notes. “You’re right,” she said. “You were playing it yesterday when I came into your room.”

She was suddenly awash in a wave of nostalgia. She didn’t know what it was, but it wasn’t from hearing Ben play Moonlight Sonata in his room. It went deeper, a sense of instinctual recognition like running into someone you knew but hadn’t seen for a long time. Even if the person looked a little different, you were almost positive that you knew them.

A Stranger's HeartA Stranger's Heart - T.K. Tuitt
Published : March 2014
Really like the sound of this. It's more often than not with books like this that it's the male with a difficult past and the female who has to help him overcome them. I like that it's the other way round in A Stranger's Heart.
Another thing I love is that Jake has a son, I am such a 'sucker' for a male character who is good and caring with kids, even more so when it's their own child. Definitely think that makes the book even more interesting to me.
A Stranger's Heart

-
The Blurb :
Corinne Morgan had survived hell and had the scars to prove it. Her career and life were moving full throttle when a stranger stepped in and gave a reason to want even more.

Jake Shaw had only one desire to be a good father to his son but now an unexpected meeting reignites his desire for love and family.

The Retribution of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkin
Still can't believe I haven't read this series yet! I have both the first two on my shelf but I just haven't had a chance to read them! I love how the three covers in this series almost tell a story with her starting off on her own, trying to reach someone and now in this one she is holding onto him.

Perfect LiePerfect Lie - Teresa Mummert
Published : 15th March 2014
With some books when reading the blurb I am interested in the sound of it but not sure if I am interested enough to want to read it as much as other books which are coming out.
This was kind of the case with Perfect Lie, that was until I read the quote from the book. The quote definitely won me over and has confirmed that i definitely do want to read Perfect Lie!
I haven't actually heard of Teresa before but looking at the books she has previously released some sound really good!
Perfect Lie

-
The Blurb :
Delilah (Lie) doesn't fit in at high school. She has no friends and no one she can count on. College is her chance to spread her wings and become the person she always wanted to be.
Her world is flipped upside down when she meets Abel, a quiet surfer from California. Unfortunately, Trish Wentworth has already claimed him. Will Lie find the courage to stand up to Trish and fight for what she wants?
Or will history repeat itself?

"I cried again tonight. I tried to hold back the tears but they used that word. That sickening word that opens up my emotions like flood gates. Worthless. It wasn’t that I viewed my tears as a weakness, it was that I knew what they said was true. I was a nothing. No one looked forward to seeing me in the morning. No one laid their head on their pillow at night to dream of me. I existed by pure accident and no one would let me forget how not wanted I was."

How far would you go to fit in?

I don't think I have ever seen a cover with an effect like this. It's so refreshing to see such a unique cover with all the wonderful different colours.

ElusionElusion - Claudia Gabel and Cheryl Klam
Published : 18th March 2014
I have to admit that this cover is what attracted me to the book to begin with and what made me read the blurb. Isn't it gorgeous? So colourful!
This is one of those blurbs which doesn't quickly win me over because it's so long and descriptive. I think a blurb is mean't to be short and sweet.
However I definitely think the storyline sounds very promising and unique. As long as it doesn't get too confusing!
Elusion

-
The Blurb :
Soon, Elusion® will change the world and life as we know it.

A new technology called Elusion is sweeping the country. An app, visor and wristband will virtually transport you to an exotic destination where adventure can be pursued without the complications—or consequences—of real life.

Regan is an Elusion insider. Or at least she used to be. Her father invented the program, and her best friend, Patrick, heir to the tech giant Orexis, is about to release it nationwide. But ever since her father’s unexpected death, Regan can’t bear to Escape, especially since waking up from the dream means crashing back to her grim reality.

Still, when there are rumors of trouble in Elusion—accusations that it’s addictive and dangerous— Regan is determined to defend it. But the critics of Elusion come from surprising sources, including Josh, the handsome skeptic with his own personal stakes. As Regan investigates the claims, she discovers a disturbing web of secrets. She will soon have to choose between love and loyalty…a decision that will affect the lives of millions.

Suspense, thrills, and romance fuel this near-future story about the seductive nature of a perfect virtual world, and how far one girl will go to uncover the truth behind the illusions.

PanicIsla and The Happily Ever After - Stephanie Perkins
Published : 13th May 2014
I love how this blurb leaves so much open to the imagination and keeps a lot about the book a mystery. So many books tell you about half the story before you even get a chance to read the book.
I so want to read this and find out more about 'Panic' and what this involves, very intrigued by it all!
Of course, it helps that the book is by the amazing author herself, Lauren Oliver. Looking forward to reading this one for definite =)
Panic

-
The Blurb :
Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a dead-end town of 12,000 people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do.

Heather never thought she would compete in Panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She’d never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought.

Dodge has never been afraid of Panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game, he’s sure of it. But what he doesn't know is that he’s not the only one with a secret. Everyone has something to play for.

For Heather and Dodge, the game will bring new alliances, unexpected revelations, and the possibility of first love for each of them—and the knowledge that sometimes the very things we fear are those we need the most.
