Can I breath now?! I think I held my breath for half this book if not more. It's so dark and consuming and I couldn't help but want more, more Avery because oh my goodness his character is..just.... is there any word to describe Avery?!
This is my first book by Shantel and she surprised me every step of the way while reading Slaughter.

Twists and turns throughout left me on the edge of my seat and just not sure how to feel. I mean do I even like Avery? Oh wait, next chapter... freaking hell why did I even doubt if I liked him? .... Oh wait, no Avery don't be stupid and do that! ... Ahh okay Avery I understand now.... Yep this is the roller coaster this book put me through.
Presleigh breaks my heart, I wonder how much a person can take and how much Shantel is going to put this brilliant character through. I felt like I was there every step of the way which just made it all so much darker but yet more consuming. Shantel's writing is just engrossing, she gives you enough details and descriptions but never to the point it's too much or becomes boring.

Final Thoughts
Slaughter was one of those books you don't stop thinking about even when you have put it down. I will be thinking about it for days if not weeks to come.If you like a dark dark romance full of twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat then this is the book for you.
