.... The Blurb  ....
I am...

That’s no longer an easy statement.

Who am I?

Since Sterling Sparrow, a man so handsome he takes my breath away and so infuriating he pushes me in ways I’ve never known, came barreling into my life like a category five hurricane, I can’t even finish that simple statement.

In twenty-six years I’ve lived three lives—been three different people.

Renee. Kennedy. And now, Araneae.

They say that I was named after the spider to make me resilient.

Sparrow would then be a bird.

Birds eat spiders.

I prefer to consider myself a cat. It ups my chance of surviving the world I’m now living.

Maybe that’s only wishful thinking because according to Sterling, my number of lives is running out.

There are people who want to harm me, to learn the secrets they claim that I possess.

The only person to offer me protection is Sterling Sparrow.

Can I trust a man who willingly put me in the sight of danger?

What is real?

What are lies?

Have you been Aleatha’d?

Lies is book two of the Web of Sin trilogy to be read after Secrets.

.... My Thoughts   ...
In Short
- I enjoyed getting to know Sterling and Araneae more.
- Lies opens up the storyline to even more twists.
-I can not wait for Promises.

In Long
When I finished 'Secrets' I was left speechless and breathless, the ending was a huge cliff hanger that had me desperate for 'Lies'.

Lies is slower paced and, dare I say it, a bit more placid than Secrets. Well, in comparison to Secrets that is but Lies definitely holds it's own and has enough of it's own drama. What I really loved about Lies though was getting to know both Sterling and Araneae. Their characters really grow in strength in this book and I couldn't get enough of either of them and together they are irresistible.

Lies is a book which has started more questions than it has answered and has added so many twists to the story. The intriguing story line is just full of them which just keeps surprising me. I have learnt nothing is predictable in Aleatha's books.

At times I found all the characters a little confusing because they are so many entwined in different ways but Aleatha very cleverly reminds the reader who each person is in an appropriate way to keep with the story.

Final Thoughts
Lies has really set up  for Promises with so many story lines within the main one. I don't think I can ever get enough of Sterling or Araneae but for now I have Promises to look forward to!

Quotes
'Sterling Sparrow had a palpable energy that was verifiable even without visual confirmation.'

'Sterling Sparrow was a force of nature, a category five hurricane, and all I could do was hold on.'

'The connection was a spark, a flash, a reassurance that together we were more than we could possibly be alone.'
