.... The Blurb ....
As a hitman for hire, Percivale is no stranger to violence.
From the moment he saw Blossom Jaymes through the window of her bakery, he knew he was in too deep. Not only was she as sweet as her perfectly crafted treats, but she was a soft-spoken, golden-haired angel that shone like a bright beacon in his dark world. And Percivale didn’t deal in angels. He dealt in death and crime. The even bigger issue? Percivale’s next hit is on said sweet little baker who doesn’t seem to realize how much danger lurks around her with each passing day.
If he doesn’t get the job done, who will?
When Percivale has to decide what’s more important to him—the life of a woman who may very well be innocent or getting his revenge on the men who murdered his family—the lines become blurred. Morals are twisted and a deathly chase ensues that can only result in one thing—Blossom buried six feet under.
Or can it?
Can Percivale let his lust for revenge go in order to save Blossom from the bounty on her head, or will the power she unknowingly holds over him be what gets her killed?
.... My Thoughts ...
In Short
- I am a huge fan of S.M. Soto
- Percivale really kept you on your toes and was very different from Blossom, the female character.
- I felt the book was slower in places.

In Long
If you have read any of my previous reviews you will know I am a huge fan of S.M. Soto, like HUGE! I am also a fan of Cavalieri Della Morte series so I was massively excited for these two to mix together.
Now this is a 4 star, not the 5 star I hoped for but I did really enjoy this book still. S.M. is so talented at creating these dark, intriguing, should hate but just can't, alpha males. This was no different with Percivale and he really kept up on our toes.
The main thing for me was purely the pace of the book. The thing I love about S.M. is the non stop action and breath taking pace but I really felt Cruel Love didn't hit the mark this time. I felt quite a few chapters weren't necessary and didn't keep my interest as strongly as I hoped.
That said, everything about her characters were as amazing as always. Percivale and Blossom are complete opposites and made for a very interesting chemistry that was truly additive to watch.
Final Thoughts
A Cruel Love is a brilliant addition to this addictive series.
