.... The Blurb ....
I’ve been betrayed. A hit gone wrong. I'm hurt and hunted.
She helps me out of fear--an innocent snatched up in my bid to escape. I can’t let her live because she’s seen my face.
No survivors. No witnesses. That’s a code I live by and one I’ve always upheld. Yet when it comes to my petal, she makes me hesitate.
I want to taste her and make her mine in the most primitive way. Ravage her. Devour her. Allowing my need for her to take hold.
Unsure of who to trust, I feel the enemy closing in. I should set her free, but I can't. I’ll discover who has a price on my head and I'll end them, meeting blood with blood, and bullet with bullet.
Would she still want me when she sees me kill? Or will it scare her off for good?
.... My Thoughts ...
In Short

- Claire's writing is addictive, making this a hard book to put down.
- The story line is well thought out and has some depth to it.

In Long
Woah! This was one fast paced, crazy ride.
Claire's writing was bewitching and addictive, I just didn't want to put this book down for a second, given the chance I would have sat and read this book in one sitting.
The story line is really well thought out with quite a lot of depth for a shorter read. Nothing felt rushed but so much happens in such a short time. I really liked that I was kept guessing, along with Kay, for most of the book and really went on this dark and crazy journey with him and Evelyn.
The character development felt well paced and I really felt like I knew them all well enough. Especially Kay who tells his story to the reader well. I really liked him despite him being so dark and, at times, totally messed up. He was a puzzle I enjoyed solving and seeing Evelyn solve.
Evelyn, I felt, didn't have as much to her as Kay but I still felt she was perfect character for this book.

Final Thoughts
I am loving this series and have found some new (to me), exciting authors. I can not wait to read the rest of this series and more books by Claire.
