.... The Blurb ....
Taking her is my right.
Breaking her, my duty.
I was always going to choose Helena. I knew it the instant I saw her.
She’s different than the others. There’s a darkness about her. Something wild inside her. And it calls to the beast inside me.
But she isn’t what I expect. With every word and every touch, she pushes me, burrows deep under my skin, challenging the rules, upending history.
And all the while, I see how my brother watches her. He wants her, and as the rules stand, she’ll become his in one year’s time.
Except that I have no intention of giving her up.
Note: Torn is book two of the Dark Legacy Duet.
.... My Thoughts ...
In Short
- Torn throws you right into the action from the get go.
- The story line surprised me with the direction it took.
- The characters continued to grow in Torn.

In Long
Taken, number one in the duet, ended on a pretty intense cliff hanger which left me gasping for the next one, Torn, so I was really excited to start this.
When a book ends on a cliff hanger I think you have high expectations of the next one and what direction the book will go in. Well Torn throws you right into the thick of the action from the get go and there is no hiding away from it, that's for sure!
The story line really surprised me. I didn't expect Natasha to take the book in the direction that it did. I feel this may be a bit like marmite and the reader will love or hate it, I definitely loved it. It stepped everything up for me and I couldn't get enough, couldn't predict what was going to happen or what a character was going to do next.
Helena definitely developed even more in Torn which I really liked, I find this is sometimes hard when it's a second or third book! Sebastian was much more open in Torn and I enjoyed getting to know him more.

Final Thoughts
Torn left me with such mixed emotions. The ending is one which leaves hints at things but also closed off another side really nicely. I absolutely loved seeing a little into the future.
