My Review:
I am totally obsessed with Paranormal books and after reading 'Shiver' l needed a great book to follow on from this. After being recommended this book l thought it would be a great book to follow on from, l am very glad l listened to the recommendation!
The mystery in this book keeps you totally gripped and the friendships which develop through this book keep you wondering, as things are revealed more things happen.
The main thing l loved about this book is the friendship between Nora and Vee which is a very real friendships that girls who read this will relate too. I also loved how you felt you were there and at the tense moments my heart started to beat a bit faster.
Truly great book, if you love 'Shiver' etc l think this is a great book to follow on so your not struggling to find another great book.I can't see how people are saying its like Twlight, l found it nothing like it a unique book with a great twists.
Will be looking for more books by Becca and hoping to get the second book in this series very soon!

New books in!

Just received ; Amy Meredith : Shadows and The Hunt.
Can't wait to read them, l am loving books which are in a series, especially as these books are rather small and l will finish in no more than a few hours.
Here's a bit about them :

#1 -
Fifteen-year-old Eve Evergold is cute, sassy and enjoying a busy social life. What she doesn't know yet is that someone close to her is an evil demon that only she has the supernatural power to defeat. She needs to work out who it is - and fast! Because although there's something very attractive about the dark side...dating a demon? Pure hell!

#2
Something is hunting. Something that will kill to get what it wants. And it isn't human. Eve knows that her supernatural powers are called for, but she'd rather focus on dating than demons and gorgeous Luke is, frankly, pretty distracting. He's already a friend - but could he be something more? Do Luke and Eve really have a future? And with demons on the hunt, will either of them live long enough to find out?

Look out for my reviews and also the third one which is called 'Fever'.

The Blurb :
Emma is like every girl in the world. She has a few little secrets. Secrets from her mother: 1.I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom to Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben Hur. ...From her boyfriend: 2. I'm a size twelve. Not a size eight, like Connor thinks. 3. I've always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken. ...From her colleagues: 4. When Artemis really annoys me, I feed her plant orange juice. (Which is pretty much every day) 5. It was me who jammed the copier that time. In fact, all the times. ...Secrets she wouldn't share with anyone in the world: 6. My G string is hurting me. 7. I faked my Maths GCSE grade on my CV. 8. I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even what it is... ...until she spills them all to a stranger on a plane. At least, she thought he was a stranger...
My Review :
When l first started reading this l had really high hopes as a big fan of the Shopaholic series this is the first book l have read of hers that wasn't that series. l already knew one main part of it after being told about this book so l found this book didn't have very many surprises which l expect with Sophie's books, the little twists and magic which l have found in Cecelia Ahern's books to which she has been compared.
The main reason l didn't love this book is the predictability, l loved the Shopaholic series so much the predictability didn't bother me too much but l found the main twist in this book was over very early into the book and thought the main character lacked in imagination on Sophie behalf because of her similarities to Becky from Shopaholic series.
Also the main charactered tenancy to say "l will do this and then everything will be perfect" in any situation started to annoy me but then at other times l found her pure 'blondness' funny. The end was a great ending though and have to say the best bit of the book.
Over all it was an ok read but just not up to my high exceptions which l had for Sophie Kinsella

Lauren Oliver - Before l fall

Before I Fall
Started : 16th September 2010

Rating : 3/5

The Blurb :
Sam Kingston is dead. Except she isn't.
On a rainy February night, eighteen-year-old Sam is killed in a horrific car crash. But then the impossible happens: she wakes up in her own bed, on the morning of the day that she died.
Forced to live over and over the last day of her life the drive to school, skipping class, the fateful party she desperately struggles to alter the outcome, but every morning she wakes up on the day of the crash.
This is a story of a girl who dies young, but in the process learns how to live. And who falls in love... a little too late.
My Review :
This book was very different from what l have expected, l think l was a little bit disappointed at the beginning Sam wasn't an older character but as you read the book this works out well as this book is all about a young girl learning and maturing which makes the book both emotional and inspiring.
It took around 100 pages for me to get into this book but after that l started to enjoy it more, l felt this was because of understanding Sam as a character more and her reasons for doing things. The ending is the best part for me and didn't let it down at all, just a shame it took so long for me to get into it.
A heart warming book which definitely makes you think.

The Blurb :
Sophie Mills has worked her Manolo Blahniks off to reach the near-top of her profession. And she’s very happy with her priorities in life – her job, her neurotic cat Artemis and her passion for shoes. After all, relationships only get in the way. And as for children? She hasn’t even begun to think about them yet.Until one day an unexpected visitor brings news of a strange inheritance and Sophie is suddenly, out of the blue, in sole charge of two children under the age of six. But motherhood can’t be all that hard, can it? Within twenty-four hours, her make-up is smeared all over the bathroom, Artemis has taken up residence on top of her wardrobe, and Sophie is in despair. And all her unconventional mother can suggest is Dr Roberts’ Complete Dog Training and Care Manual. Determined to rise to the challenge, Sophie soon realises that she’ll need more than a business plan to cope with all this …
My Review :
Sophie is a workaholic who's closest friend is her personal assistant, Cal. Sophie struggles to put trust in a relationship with a male and judge whether they like her so instead focuses her whole life on her job and contemplating the possibility of a guy liking her. This book follows Sophie as she is forced to take care of her two godchildren and realises for the first time how she really feels about a guy, will she spend too long contemplating whether he likes her back or will she take her first risk in life?.
This book put together many different emotions - A heart warming book which l found myself laughing out loud at some points (which l haven't done for ages at a book)

My Review:
My reading taste has changed a little in the past few months, more fussy and l have been very lucky with that fact that l have found some new authors to fulfil my little change in taste.
I used to read very straight forward sort of books with main story line were : Meet a boy - Fall in Love - Fall out - Get back together. Now l want a little extra in books and this book is exactly the sort of book which does that.
It's strange to say but this book have a little bit of crime in as well as the usual romance l like, funniness and a unusual way in which the romance is made.
A good read and l am glad l found this book and author.

The Blurb :

Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human -- until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears and the temperature drops, Sam must fight to stay human or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.
My Review:
Wow. That’s the first thing which came to mind every time l put this book down to get some food or was dragged away from this book for a few seconds, the pages were whizzing by. This book took over my mind, constantly thinking “what is going to happen next?” The thing that surprised me the most with this book is that it isn’t the most complicated story line with the most magical twists in it but yet l was totally gripped and found myself skipping a few lines as l just couldn’t wait to find out what happens.

The author really made this book something special from the magical romance between the two main characters wasn’t to sickly and therefore felt very real for me as the reader to believe the feelings and found myself feeling like l knew the characters personally. I think this was helped even more because of how the book is wrote from both Sam’s and Grace’s point of view so you start to understand both of their feelings and therefore understand the characters which Maggie was trying to create and did a great job of making them real from the readers point of view.
Cannot wait to read linger to escape to the world which Maggie has created.

My Review :
Melanie Rose has set high standards for herself from my point of view with her previous two books and after reading this she has yet to fail with coming up with an interesting, unique plot that has kept me gripped all the way through, this book doesn’t disappoint!
The futher you get into this book more things arise and are discovered about the characters and even though Michaela finding out what happened to the 6 and half years of her life is the main storyline in this book there are many other storylines and at some points in the book you forget about Michaela finding out about what happened to her. Even though not everything is based around her finding this out you get the feeling with this book that everything written is important to the plot and in the end you see the importance of a lot of things you didn’t before. This makes the book very intriguing and makes it very hard to put down. The ending wasn't what l was expected and because of this l feel like something small is missing from this book but in another way the ending is a great ending to a great book, l am stuck between the two .. maybe because l didn't want the book to end. I love books which you put down after reading the last page with a smile on your face and a sort of connection with the character.
Michaela wakes up 6 years later to a new world with new troubles, secrets and lots of unanswered questions ; where has the last 6 and half years of her life gone? People around her come up with many different theories while Michaela tries to find peace in a few theories.
