Nora, the popular girl and happy consumer, witnesses a horrific bombing on a shopping trip with her mother. In Nora’s near-future world, terrorism is so commonplace that she can pop one little white pill to forget and go on like nothing ever happened. However, when Nora makes her first trip to a Therapeutic Forgetting Clinic, she learns what her mother, a frequent forgetter, has been frequently forgetting. Nora secretly spits out the pill and holds on to her memories. The memory of the bombing as well as her mother’s secret and her budding awareness of the world outside her little clique make it increasingly difficult for Nora to cope. She turns to two new friends, each with their own reasons to remember, and together they share their experiences with their classmates through an underground comic. They soon learn, though, they can’t get away with remembering.iendship to shreds.
This road to the prom dream may just end in disaster.

When l received this book (Thanks again Diana) l was shocked by how small the book is, it’s only 192 pages. You couldn't be blamed for thinking ‘Can this book be any good when it’s so small? Can it introduce the characters in time and get a good story line in?’ well in answer to that, yes. Yes it is a good book even though it is only 2/3 the size of most books, yes it does let you get to the know the characters well but still have a good story line behind it, yes the size of the book fits the story perfectly.

I was straight away drawn into the book even though the beginning is a bit confusing. When you understand it, it is very clever way to start the book and definitely makes you want to read on. More importantly, when it keeps you wanting to read more Memento Nora doesn’t feel rushed, you have the information you need to follow the story, probably not as much as any books but enough. I didn’t know the book is told from three peoples point of view but l enjoyed this, although sometimes l forgot to look who’s point of view the next chapter is fro. I felt by doing it from more than one persons point of view it meant the information you need is there as you are in three peoples 'minds'

This book is hard to write a review about without containing spoilers as everything happens quite quickly. l wouldn’t say there is ALOT going on in the book but it still keeps me engrrossed, mainly because l love the concept of this book about the pill which you can take. The differences between characters also interested me, l love how they interacted together when they are different (In ways l won’t say) Also like l mentioned above, the characters are still developed well even though everything happens quite quickly in this book. I felt l knew Nora as well as l know other characters that are in books that are 400 pages long, that shows the book is written well in my eyes!

*Warning – May contain spoiler* (Highlight)

I got confused as to what their friend actually built, it had a page or two talking about what their friend, Winter had built in the garden and l was so so confused to what it was on about. I think if l understood it, it would of been a lot better for me l wouldn’t have got a bit bored in them few pages because l didn’t understand. That was probably my fault though. Also didn’t really understand how they did the printing. After l finished it l looked at the website and read about it. I liked the idea!

Spoiler finished

Overall l really liked this book, it’s a quick read which will keep your interest that has developed characters that are entraining to read about. Worth a read!
l work hard to make my reviews non spoiler reviews. Please email/comment me if you feel a review has a spoiler in it.
