The only thing Avery Hood can remember about the night her parents died is that she saw silver—deadly silver, moving inhumanly fast. As much as she wants to remember who killed them, she can't, and there's nothing left to do but try to piece her life back together. Then Avery meets the new boy in school—Ben, mysterious and beautiful, with whom she feels a connection like nothing she's ever experienced. When Ben reveals he's a werewolf, Avery still trusts him—at first. Then she sees that sometimes his eyes flash inhuman silver. And she learns that she's not the only one who can't remember the night her parents died.Part murder mystery, part grief narrative, and part heart-stopping, headlong romance, Low Red Moon is a must-read for teen paranormal fans. As breathless as Twilight and as spooky as Shiver, this is a book to be devoured in one sitting—by an acclaimed YA author making her paranormal debut under the pseudonym Ivy Devlin.

l am going to start off by saying the few little things in this book which meant, for me, it’s a 4.5 and not a 5.
My only real 'complaint' of this book is a few things were repeated too much which gave me the impression some sentences were forced. The sentences which felt forced didn’t flow with what was happening, it kind of felt like déjà vu and l found myself thinking ‘Didn’t you just say/think/do that a second ago?’ For explain if a feeling was being described sometimes the same feeling would be described a paragraph down, not always in the same way but still something which has already been said. Minus my negative feelings, repeating things can sometimes be a good thing, at one point l didn’t understand what had happened but because it was kind of said again l then understood it. Saying that, like l said above, l felt for some feelings the reader already understood them and it didn’t need to be repeated.
Ok, on a more positive note, l LOVED this book! First off the cover and inside of the book really stands out, the cover is sooo shiny and the page numbers etc are red as well as a picture of a few trees at the bottom of each page, l loved that!
Apart from how appealing the book is to read its obviously not the most important thing, the writing inside is! Well let me tell you, Ivy has wrote an amazing debut book. The writing is great with an engrossing plot behind it that shows off Ivy’s writing and imagination skills. I don’t think it’s an action packed book because, like l said, some scenes and actions feel a bit repeated in this book. For me though that didn’t matter too much, l was engrossed by Avery’s struggles and discoveries and enjoyed following her journey.
It felt like the ending of this book hinted towards a second to follow which would suit some people as l have heard some felt not too much happened in this book and was more developing of the characters. I can’t see this myself, l think this is a great book within itself and do feel relationships between the characters will be interesting to see how they grow and change and should be a big part of the second book, if there is one.
Overall l would really recommend this book, it’s not a big book but is an enjoyable read and definitely a debut author of 2011 who will grab your attention!

This Lullaby
I got this ages ago for free! When l was doing a college placement the nursery had sold some books to earn some money for a little party or something and there was some left over. They told me to pick which ones l wanted! How lucky.
Anyway this one was in the bottom of the a box and as l was into romance book at that time (didn't read paranormal then, l still like romance books though!) and l picked it up. I have heard really good things about this and is in some of peoples list of top romance books etc. This has been in my next 5 reads list a few times but has never got there!

Nora, the popular girl and happy consumer, witnesses a horrific bombing on a shopping trip with her mother. In Nora’s near-future world, terrorism is so commonplace that she can pop one little white pill to forget and go on like nothing ever happened. However, when Nora makes her first trip to a Therapeutic Forgetting Clinic, she learns what her mother, a frequent forgetter, has been frequently forgetting. Nora secretly spits out the pill and holds on to her memories. The memory of the bombing as well as her mother’s secret and her budding awareness of the world outside her little clique make it increasingly difficult for Nora to cope. She turns to two new friends, each with their own reasons to remember, and together they share their experiences with their classmates through an underground comic. They soon learn, though, they can’t get away with remembering.iendship to shreds.
This road to the prom dream may just end in disaster.

When l received this book (Thanks again Diana) l was shocked by how small the book is, it’s only 192 pages. You couldn't be blamed for thinking ‘Can this book be any good when it’s so small? Can it introduce the characters in time and get a good story line in?’ well in answer to that, yes. Yes it is a good book even though it is only 2/3 the size of most books, yes it does let you get to the know the characters well but still have a good story line behind it, yes the size of the book fits the story perfectly.

I was straight away drawn into the book even though the beginning is a bit confusing. When you understand it, it is very clever way to start the book and definitely makes you want to read on. More importantly, when it keeps you wanting to read more Memento Nora doesn’t feel rushed, you have the information you need to follow the story, probably not as much as any books but enough. I didn’t know the book is told from three peoples point of view but l enjoyed this, although sometimes l forgot to look who’s point of view the next chapter is fro. I felt by doing it from more than one persons point of view it meant the information you need is there as you are in three peoples 'minds'

This book is hard to write a review about without containing spoilers as everything happens quite quickly. l wouldn’t say there is ALOT going on in the book but it still keeps me engrrossed, mainly because l love the concept of this book about the pill which you can take. The differences between characters also interested me, l love how they interacted together when they are different (In ways l won’t say) Also like l mentioned above, the characters are still developed well even though everything happens quite quickly in this book. I felt l knew Nora as well as l know other characters that are in books that are 400 pages long, that shows the book is written well in my eyes!

*Warning – May contain spoiler* (Highlight)

I got confused as to what their friend actually built, it had a page or two talking about what their friend, Winter had built in the garden and l was so so confused to what it was on about. I think if l understood it, it would of been a lot better for me l wouldn’t have got a bit bored in them few pages because l didn’t understand. That was probably my fault though. Also didn’t really understand how they did the printing. After l finished it l looked at the website and read about it. I liked the idea!
.

Spoiler finished

Overall l really liked this book, it’s a quick read which will keep your interest that has developed characters that are entraining to read about. Worth a read!

This just came up on Netgalley! YAY. I think some people (maybe me) will be tempted to buy this because the cover is so so pretty!
Not only is the cover beautiful, l love the colour of her dress against the scene, the book sounds really interesting and like it will be a fun read. I would say for everyone to give this a go! Especially if it's on Netgalley and there for you to read!!
Not surprised Netgalley crashed last night with their new AMAZING additions!
