.... The Blurb  ....
A dark tale of obsession, beauty, and lust! Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Amazon Bestseller Vivian Wood writes dark romance as OLIVIA RYANN.

Stolen and abducted… yet in the same stroke, saved.
On one hand, I escaped certain death at the hands of people who have already hurt me.
On the other, now I’m trapped with him.
The rival of my abuser, who is every bit as terrifying. Dark and sinfully handsome, he wants me.
He wants me to turn my back on the religion that has raised me.
He wants me to spread my legs for him and him alone.
He wants to punish me. He wants to teach me to like his lessons.
Or else he’ll kill my little sister and turn me over to the men who controlled me before.
Either way, I will have to make sacrifices. Sacrifices that have lasting consequences.
I walk on the knife’s edge between falling prey again and completely losing myself.
And if I’m not careful, I may end up worse than dead...

.... My Thoughts   ...
In Short
- I don't feel I bonded with Rue until near the end.
- Olivia's writing was moreish and drew me in despite conflicting feelings.
- I can not wait to read more by Olivia

In Long
Punish has me really conflicted, there was lots I really enjoyed about this book but also things which I feel unsure about. It is labelled as a Mafia romance but for me it wasn't strongly Mafia related, which didn't overly matter to me but I would have liked to see that side more, maybe we will in the next one.

Rue has a heart breaking background which you slowly learn more about. I don't know why but it took me a while to feel like I got to know her as a character though and I didn't feel like I properly bonded with her till right near the end. Once I did though and really felt for her character and started to understand her actions more.

Dryas really had me conflicted, in some ways he really drew me in but in others I just didn't understand his actions at all! He is a very interesting character.

There are holes in the story line which made it feel less real for me but Olivia's writing kept me reading AND still enjoying, she is a talented author who I think could easily blow my breath away. Her writing is the sort of the style I love, it's fast paced while still offering details to help you envision what is happening and flows well.

Final Thoughts
I am really excited for the next book in this series, things really stepped up for me half way through and towards the end I was craving more.

Quotes
'"You know what I am? I'm like a virus. I infect, I corrupt. There's nothing you can do to stop me."'
